I’ve always had trouble with sleep, even from a young age. As soon as I’d try to go to bed, my mind would race, and I’d toss and turn for hours. About seven years ago, things got worse when I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and panic attacks, and sleep became almost impossible. That’s when I knew I had to make sleep a priority and began a deep dive into everything that could help.

I realised that sleep wasn’t just a nervous system issue, it was physiological too. I had been a heavy mouth breather due to a deviated septum, which meant I wasn’t breathing optimally through my nose at night. Through research, I learned how important nasal breathing is for a deeper, more restorative sleep. It helps with everything from reducing brain fog and boosting energy to improving mental health.

I started using nose openers and mouth tape, and I immediately noticed a huge difference. My energy levels improved, my cravings for sugar and carbs went down, and I felt calmer during the day because I was finally getting the quality sleep I needed, there are now huge studies and research around nasal breathing and mental health.
