Blue light lenses

Our technology goes deeper with our Blue+ lenses. Unlike our competitors, our blue light filter is not a surface layer or coating. Your Baxters have a blue-light pigment technology embedded right into the lens, filtering out as much as 80% of the highest energy wavelengths in the 380-440nm range known to cause digital-eye-strain. It’s a difference you’ll feel.

With a premium, anti-reflective coating that eliminates 100% of glare, your eyes don’t have to work so hard. Contrast is crisper, and visuals are richer, so even your eyes get to Netflix and chill.

Filtering 100% of UVA and UVB light, your eyes are protected even without wearing shades, and the Super Hydrophobic coating on all of our lenses means minimised smudges and scratches, keeping your vision clearer for longer.

Sleep lenses

Our Blue+ sleep lenses are designed to be worn when the sun goes down, our amber Sleep lenses have been specifically developed to filter out 40% of the 450-500nm wavelengths that impact the release of melatonin - and subsequently, a good night’s sleep!

Deep protection with minimal color distortion. Unlike many amber lenses on the market, Baxter Blue’s embedded filter technology means maximum protection with minimal distortion, allowing you to game, binge watch, or catch up on emails without sacrificing sleep.

The Baxter Blue standard. As with all our lenses, our Blue+ sleep lenses filter 100% of UVA and UVB light, feature a premium, anti-reflective coating that eliminates 100% of screen glare and digital eye strain, as well as a super-hydrophobic coating to minimize smudges and scratches. 

Sunglasses

With advanced polarization, 100% protection from UVA & UVB rays, blue light filtration, and an anti-reflective coating, our sunglasses knock it out of the park.

Not familiar with polarized lenses? Simply put, you’ll see better, in full color, with full UV and blue light protection. By eliminating glare, color distortion becomes a thing of the past, allowing you to see our world’s glorious technicolor in it’s true, radiant form.

It’s not rocket science, but it’s science that might just change your day!

Firstly, our lenses. We could have just worked with an off the shelf blue-light-blocking lens, but we wanted to be certain the lens would filter out the highest energy wavelengths whilst letting the good blue light in. So we embarked on many months of research and development to create our own blue light lens, partnering with experts in the field to develop our Blue+ lenses. Our Blue+ lenses are clear and filter 80% of the highest energy wavelengths, have 100% UV protection and come with a premium anti-reflective coating that eliminates glare to make screen time more enjoyable.

Secondly, our frames. We set out to design frames that you would be happy to wear out in public. Working with experienced frame designers we have developed a fashionable range of glasses that we hope will suit all tastes.

Because our Blue + lenses are virtually clear with a very subtle tint (hardly noticeable when worn), combined with one of our stylish frames, you have protective eyewear you will be happy to wear anywhere!

Our 'kids' glasses are unisex and recommended for kids 7 - 13 years of age. For children over the age of 13 we would recommend glasses from our Adults range. If when you receive your glasses and they don't fit, no problems, see our 'returns policy' and send them back to us within 30 days and we'll exchange them for another pair.

Yes, all our Adult's range of frames are available in reading magnifications of +0.5, +1.0, +1.5 & +2.0

Not sure if you need reading glasses? If you are having trouble reading the fine print, holding the menus further and further away then you like tens of millions of people are developing presbyopia which is a natural part of aging, so don’t worry!  This means you need a pair of Baxter’s Blue Light Readers!

Your lens strength can most commonly be determined by your age and once you are around 40-45 years old you may feel the need for reading glasses. It’s important to select reading glasses that that have the correct magnification value. The strength of reading glasses strength is measured in diopters. This number indicates how powerful a lens is, the lower the number the less the strength - Our readers start at +0.50 and progress in strength by .50 diopters up to +2.0.

Below is a guide for choosing the best strength of readers for you

40 - 45 yrs        +0.5 to +1.0

46 – 50 yrs       +1.0 to +1.5

50 – 60 yrs       +1.5 to +2.0

We don’t currently offer prescription lenses and recommend that you visit your local optometrist. Our frames however are also available to be purchased & have your local optometrist fit prescription lens.

We are very proud of the quality of our Baxter's that are put through a strict QC process before they are despatched to you and come standard with a 12 month warranty against any manufacturing defects. Our warranty includes any manufacturing defects in workmanship, materials and coatings. Manufacturing defects do not include normal wear and tear, improper cleaning, scratched/dislodged lenses, or exposure to excessive heat.

Here are some tips on how to care for your Baxter's.

1/ Always store your Baxter's in their glasses case when not wearing them. 2/ Use both hands to take them off. 3/ Never place the lenses directly onto any surface as this may scratch them. 4/ Regularly clean your Baxter's with the supplied cleaning cloth. 5/ Keep your Baxter's out of direct sunlight. 6/ Never leave your Baxter's in a hot car as the heat may damage the lenses over time.

What are the benefits?

The Sleep Mask is a total blackout mask, meaning no outside light comes into your registered vision you while you are wearing it.

An ideal sleep environment is one that is as dark as possible so this is perfect if you’re travelling, if your partner is scrolling on their phone after lights out, if light comes in beyond your blinds etc.

Why is this mask different?

Our Sleep Mask is a full blackout mask, with soft cushion technology that allows the mask to mould to the contours of your face, without allowing light in.

It has deep eye pockets meaning you can open your eyes while wearing it, without your eyelids/lashes meeting any resistance.

Is it adjustable?

Yes – with a Velcro attachment fixture you can re-size anytime. The straps are also elastic so you can have it as firm or loose as you like.

Is it comfortable?

If you aren’t used to wearing a sleep mask, it might take a little bit of getting use to but after a night or 2, you will look forward to using it!

We have made it to be as lightweight as possible to ensure maximum comfort - after a short amount of time, you barely notice you are wearing it!

Also the subtle pressure it has when wearing, many people find relaxing thus helping you drift off to sleep.

How to clean your Sleep Mask

To ensure the longevity and quality of your sleep mask, please follow these simple hand-washing steps: Gently dampen a cloth with warm, soapy water and wipe the mask thoroughly, taking care to avoid any harsh rubbing. Rinse the mask with a cloth dampened in clean warm water and let it air dry. Please note: Do not machine wash, as this may damage your sleep mask. Enjoy peaceful slumbers with your freshly cleaned mask!

What are the benefits?

Heat on muscles is an amazing remedy for pain relief and relaxation. Heat makes your blood vessels dilate, increasing blood flow which results sore and tense muscles relaxing.

Cold therapy is excellent for inflammation and joint stiffness. It reduces blood flow to the impacted area, thus reducing inflammation and pain.

When should I use this?

Anytime you notice any tension in your neck and shoulders or if you know you will be spending a long day in front of a screen (or if you feel like a warm hug).

Many of us aren’t conscious of our posture and the way we sit at our workstations. This results in overcompensation from our muscles, trying to prevent injury, thus our muscles become tense and sore. Our Heated Neck Wrap helps alleviate and prevent this tension.

Can this be washed?

It can be wiped down with a damp cloth.

What is the Heated Neck Wrap made of?

Made up of super soft cotton and polyester material, the Heated Neck Wrap is filled with all natural clay beads that help radiate heat slowly and evenly.

With purposely designed segments throughout the wrap, this means the clay beads stay secure in their place. No need to take it off to redistribute the beads!

Care Instructions?

To Heat:
With the Heated Neck Wrap placed in the provided cotton bag, place into the microwave for 30 seconds on high. If desired temperature is not reached, repeat for another 15 seconds until you reach your desired temperature.

Please be aware that over heating your neck wrap may cause damage to the material and ensure that you test the heating requirements of your microwave. The wattage of microwaves tend to vary from 600w to 1200w, so please check your wattage and do not exceed 60 seconds in the microwave.

We always recommend spot checking for hot spots – massage the wrap to help diffuse any hot spots before placing on your neck.

The Neck Wrap will be hot so use carefully when placing on your neck and shoulders.

We recommend using this heat pack for 20-30 mins each time. Allow your skin temperature to return to room temperature if you wish to re-apply.

To Freeze:

With the Neck Wrap in the cotton bag provided, please into your freezer for about 30-60 minutes.

Product info:

Our laptop stand comes in a branded outer box with a soft, re-useable carry pouch. The stand is made from lightweight aluminium and is easy to transport into any work bag. It has levels of height and rubber grip on the feet for stability. Product measures at 28 x 4.5 x 1cm when closed, opens up to 28cm wide with a maximum standing height of 13cm.

Instructions:

Simple and easy to use, the laptop stand is quick to open and close. When closed, hold the bottom sides in each hand and pull outwards in opposite directions to open to an X shape. To set the height, turn the stand over and lift the legs on each side, one at a time, allowing the stopper to slot into the height level you choose.

To close, push inwards the feet of the stand to the closed position. Turn over and lift the legs and stopper on each side to a right angle with your index finger, and then gently lower flat back into the stand.

When should I use the roll on?

At the first signs of stress or tension, use the roll on to create a cooling, aromatic atmosphere. This can be used anytime and makes a great addition to your digital wellness ritual.

Tips for getting the most out of your de-stress roll on

After you have applied your de-stress roll on to the areas of your temples and back of your neck, in small circular motions, massage the oil into the areas you have applied it to, to help further increase your relaxation ritual.

How does it work?

How does blue light impact my skin?

There is growing evidence that shows that Blue Light (or High Energy Visible (HEV) light), much like UVA and UVB, has the ability to trigger changes within our skin cells by oxidative stress. This causes the generation of free radicals, inflammation, hyper pigmentation and cell damage. This is known as Digital Pollution.

Digital Pollution can also harm the skin by impacting its make-up through the weakening of collagen and elastin. When collagen and elastin are compromised, skin becomes uneven and lines and wrinkles form.

Further studies have revealed that longer exposure to high-energy blue light can increase the amount of DNA damage, cell and tissue death, and injury, eye damage, skin barrier damage, and photoaging.

What is Digital Pollution?

Digital pollution is the term used for how Blue Light, emitted from our digital devices, impacts our skin.

It describes a range of blue light induced cell reactions in your skin, including the generation of free radicals through oxidative stress that cause cell damage, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, cell death, and shrinkage which is linked to premature ageing.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals in excess, are molecules that develop within cells, when exposed to a range of pollutants. Free radicals and oxidants cause something called oxidative stress that has the ability to change your cellular DNA functions which can result in hyperpigmentation, inflammation, cell death, collagen and elastin breakdown to name a few.

Antioxidants, commonly found in colourful fruits and veg, are powerful free radical fighting molecules that work to neutralise free radicals.

What is photoreceptor disruption and photo-oxidation?

Photoreceptors are in our skin, made to detect light. When exposed to types of light, like UV, our photoreceptors trigger a defensive response in our skin to protect our cells and DNA. Much like how your skin tans in the sun, your photoreceptors recognise when they are exposed to UV light, thus triggering the release of melanin; a protective pigment to defend your skin from UV rays.

With prolonged exposed to Blue Light, the photoreceptors in our skin can become stressed, which means they aren’t adequately triggering a protective response to look after your cells and DNA. Blue light then has the capability to cause cell oxidation which leads to the development of free radicals, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, cell death, damage and shrinkage.

What is BlueShield®?

BlueShield® is an eco friendly product, made with sustainably harvested, highly potent antioxidant ingredients. These ingredients help protect your skin from the 2 main damaging effects of Blue Light; Photoreceptor Disruption and Photo Oxidation.

The highly potent antioxidant ingredients, the main of which being the Red Bell Pepper, have powerful abilities against fighting and neutralising free radicals to help protect your cellular DNA and collagen from oxidation damage, as well as protecting your skin photoreceptors from blue light induced stress. How will this help my sleep?

Our Deep Sleep Pillow Mist is full of aromatic ingredients, designed to assist with melatonin production (your sleep hormone) while also assisting to create a calming and relaxing environment for a more rejuvenating night’s sleep.

The main ingredient, Lavender, is well known for its calming and relaxing aroma, which has long been used in aromatherapy as a natural sleep aid, due to its soothing scent, ideal for creating an relaxing sleep environment.Lavender is also known to aid in the production of Melatonin.

What is Melatonin?

Melatonin is the hormone your brain releases when the sun goes down, that makes you sleepy, getting your body ready for bed.

How does Melatonin production get disrupted?

Back in the day before we had digital/electrical technology, the sun would wake us up in the morning and then in the evening when the sun went down, our bodies started to naturally release melatonin, thus making us sleepy, ready for bed. This is known as your “Circadian Rhythm” or “Sleep/Wake” cycle.

However, when you are on a device after the sun has gone down, the blue light being emitted from your device, tricks your brain into thinking it is still daytime, so you do not start releasing your normal melatonin levels. Therefore, many people often find it hard to switch off their brain when they go to bed, take longer to drift off to sleep, and miss out on a quality, rejuvenating sleep.

What is the Circadian Rhythm?

Your Circadian Rhythm, or you Sleep/Wake cycle, is a 24 hour cycle that is dictated by the sun. When the sun comes up in the morning, you wake up fresh and energised, ready for the day! When the sun goes down, you start producing Melatonin that makes you sleepy and gets your body ready for sleep.

Will this irritate my skin?

All skin types are different so if you have sensitive skin or not. We always recommend conducting a skin patch test before using any product.

Why do I need this?

Studies show that after a full work day, in front of a digital device, our body, due to the impacts of blue light, can become tense and stressed! Our eyes become strained, our neck and shoulders become tense, if you don’t have the proper workspace set up (or even if you do) – chances are your posture is suffering which causes your muscles to overwork leading to discomfort, drop in productivity and can be a pain in the neck (pun intended)!

Additionally, in our daily lives, our habits can end up reducing our magnesium levels without us realising – some of the most common magnesium drains are Caffeine and sugar.

This is where we come in – our Magnesium Flakes are the perfect full body remedy to alleviate tense muscles and create a calm, relaxing sensation.

What are the benefits?

Our weighted blanket is engineered to be approximately 10% of your body weight to relax the nervous system by simulating the feeling of being hugged or held. This boosts serotonin and melatonin levels and decreases cortisol levels improving your heart rate and blood pressure.

How do I choose the correct weight?

Weighted blankets are between 5kg to 11kg for adults. For optimal comfort, we recommend using the weight closest to 10% of your body weight. If you’re in between weights, we recommend rounding up to the higher weight — this ensures the blanket creates a hugging feeling on your body to help you fall and stay asleep.
